Builders in Trinity

Builders in Trinity, EH5, the villa streets north of Ferry Road between Newhaven and Granton, toward the Forth.

Neighbourhoods

Trinity is on the shore north of Ferry Road, between Newhaven and Granton. Trinity Road and Trinity Crescent run from Ferry Road to the front. Lower Granton Road, Clark Road, Victoria Park and Starbank Park are the local landmarks. Newhaven harbour is east. Granton’s waterfront is west. Inverleith Park is inland, south of Ferry Road, and is a different district.

Building stock

Victorian villas and stone semis make up most of the streets, with some colony flats and a scatter of houses that face the water. It is not the Georgian grid north of Princes Street, and it is not the warehouse quay at The Shore. Front gardens are common. A few terraces sit closer to Newhaven.

Access and parking

Lower Granton Road and the shore path attract walkers, and the carriageway along the front is not generous. Side streets are quieter and residential. Some villas have a drive; many do not. Trinity Road is the spine from Ferry Road downhill to the water. Turning near the harbour is limited, and the shore path is not a site access.

Travel from our office

Trinity is the north edge of Edinburgh, past Inverleith. The office at 102 Gilmerton Dykes Crescent is in the south-east, so the drive goes across the city to Ferry Road and then north on Trinity Road. Coming via Leith and Newhaven follows the coast instead of the park.
